Hévíz Lake spa is the greatest "vulcan" originated health lake in Europe. The deepest point is 38 meters. Hévíz Bath ranks as the largest and best known spa town in Hungary. It is situated on the north-western tip of Lake Balaton. During the summer the thermal water in Hévíz Bath is a constant 33-34C, while in winter it never falls below 26C.

Summer and winter Hévíz is equally popular as spa town. One of the medical factors of Hévíz thermal water is the mildly radioactive mud which coats the floor of the lake.
